Scape Student Living is developing the company’s first Irish venture on Dublin’s Aungier Street, with the support of Ulster Bank, which is providing development funding for the project.
Established in 2008, Scape is a fully integrated developer, owner and manager of purpose built student accommodation (PBSA) assets. The company has successfully developed a number of PBSA assets throughout the UK and Australia and their ambition is to bring Scape to the world’s leading academic cities, including Dublin.
Scape was founded on a simple idea: students deserved better. They felt that for too long, being a student meant having to compromise on quality living. In 2012, they opened their first building in London’s Mile End to show that things could be different. Today, they design, build and operate brilliant buildings for students across the globe, with over 12,000 beds in operation and in development.
Ronan Kierans, Director of Scape commented on the recent deal with Ulster Bank. “Scape is thrilled to be in Dublin, a city that has some of the world's best academic and research institutions. We very much look forward to becoming a part of the local community in this historic part of Dublin and connecting our students with our other global sites. Scape is delighted to grow its relationship with the RBS Group and are very grateful to the team at Ulster Bank for its support in bringing Scape Dublin to fruition.”
Commenting on the transaction, Eddie Cullen, Managing Director, Commercial Banking Division, Ulster Bank said: “Ulster Bank are proud to have helped fund Scape’s first venture in Ireland and wish them every success with the opening of their exceptional student residence in Dublin.”
