Cork ARC is a safe haven for people with cancer and their Families, where you can find information, practical help and emotional support.
IFH is a national charity dedicated to all matters relating to dying, death and bereavement in Ireland. Our Vision is that no one should face death or bereavement without the care and support they need.
When life is to short, two things become very important to families: the quality of life and making the most of every day. LauraLynn is Ireland’s only child hospice and all our services are provided free to families.
Cancer Care West is dedicated to providing support to anyone affected by a cancer diagnosis in a safe, nurturing environment. We aim to provide a holistic service that compliments medical treatment through the provision of residential accommodation and support services. Patient support is the central focus of everything we do. Our priorities are to equip all those we meet with the practical and emotional support they need to maintain peace of mind and quality of life. Cancer Care West also provides cancer awareness and educational programmes and supports research into patient care.
You aren’t alone. Whether you’ve been diagnosed with cancer, or know someone who has been, we have a variety of practical and emotional services to help you along the way.
Barretstown mission is to rebuild the lives of children affected by serious illness and their families. We believe that every child with serious illness should enjoy their childhood.
Hand in Hand strives to support all families affected in Ireland by childhood cancer. The primary place for treatment for all childhood cancers takes place in Dublin and this treatment will extend for years. For most families there are other siblings to care for while parents travel for treatment or have to stay in hospital during admissions for sometimes days, weeks or months. Hand in Hand’s services give these families on-the-ground support that helps to minimise the impact that both diagnosis and frequent long distance travel for treatment has on family life. By availing all of our services families find they have more precious time to care for their children.
Our core support services include childcare, domestic cleaning, laundry and family meals. All of our services are provided by local professional suppliers who are contracted by the charity. Each family’s needs are individually assessed and an appropriate range of services provided that adapt to the family’s needs throughout the duration of the child’s treatment.
