What if my Contactless card is stolen?
You should notify us as soon as possible. If anyone has fraudulently used your Contactless card to make a transaction, as long as you have kept your details safe, you will not be responsible for any losses incurred.
If I have two Contactless cards, can I be charged twice?
No. If you have two Contactless cards in your wallet and hold it over the reader, the payment will normally be rejected. But to be safe you should remove the card from your wallet before using it - as you would for any other payment.
My Contactless card isn't working
Please ensure the following:
- You have first performed a Chip & PIN Point of Sale transaction to activate the technology
- You are holding the card close enough to the Contactless terminal
- That it was not an issue with the terminal itself
- That you removed the card from your wallet before making the transaction (i.e. the signal from any other Contactless cards you may have did not interfere)
The antenna within your Contactless card is delicate and can be broken, for example if you bend your card by sitting on it. After confirming the above reasons, if the Contactless technology is still not working, it may be necessary to request a replacement card.
Is there a limit to the number of transactions I can make?
No, however, you will occasionally be asked to undertake a Chip & PIN / signature transaction as an extra security feature.
How do I get a Contactless card?
