If you are an existing Ulster Bank customer :
We'll try to open your account on the same day you complete your application. Your new account will appear on Anytime Internet Banking or on the mobile app within 1 working day, with the exception of our Fixed Term deposit account which is not available to view online or via the app. Occasionally you may need to provide us with proof of your identity or address but we'll let you know at the end of your application if we need some more information from you.
If you:
- are an existing customer but we are unable to open an account straight after your application
- are an existing customer applying in joint names
- don't already have an Ulster Bank account
We’ll try to complete your application digitally via Digidocs (our secure online portal). If you are eligible to upload your documentation electronically you’ll receive an e-mail or text message on the next working day after you apply, inviting you to complete your application via DigiDocs. Follow the instructions provided in the invite in order to complete your application as quickly as possible. We can then complete further checks and progress your application the next working day. If you are required to complete and upload any further documentation after this stage, we will let you know.
Even if you are eligible to complete your application electronically, you will still receive an application pack in the post, however this can take up to a week to reach you. If you decide to progress your application via Digidocs then you don't need to respond to this pack.
